On the topic of learning after the election, what I am personally coming to grips with is just how expansive radicalization pipelines have become. Like, we were seeing this in 2020. Part of the work and activism I was doing before needing to retire was outreach. And I am haunted by so many of the interactions I'd been having. How talking to my peers was getting a little harder everyday, and my younger sibling's peers were steadily becoming hostile.
For me, it is also crystal clear that like. Leftists became so comfortable with the idea that radicalization is exclusively a conservative phenomenon, we have collectively failed to discuss intracommunity cooperation or information seriously.
There's a contingent of leftists that has fully bought into the conservative pet talking point of liberal fascists. Leftists ready to blame every Black and brown person as responsible for a lost election. Radfeminism is rampant among the furthest left queer circles, and it is ready to betray every man over. The sheer glee some leftists are expressing over anybody being "taught a lesson" by this election.
We were seeing the outline of this shit in 2020. I inundated my colleagues with what I was seeing, and tried to walk them through deescalating this. It is staggering to me just how much this grew out of control in 4 years.
We as leftists are not immune to propaganda, but my god. We've been fucking acting like we are. What the fuck have we all been doing?
